Former Smiths frontman Morrissey canceled a scheduled concert in California on Sunday night just moments before he was due to take the stage, apparently because it was too cold. Morrissey was slated to perform at Vina Robles Amphitheatre in the central California town of Paso Robles on November 5th, but after the show was due to start, venue staff told the crowd that the show had been postponed due to an "inoperable heating system on stage."

The cancellation is the latest in a string canceled North American shows for Moz, who is currently on tour in support of his forthcoming album "Low In High School" which is due to hit the shelves later this month. Last year, Moz cancelled the lion's share of his North American tour dates after his keyboardist Gustavo Manzur collapsed prior to a show. However, Morrissey later claimed that financing had been a factor in the cancellation of some dates and laid the blame at the feet of his tour management company 360 Management.

'80s college rock blog Slicing Up Eyeballs noted, temperatures at the outdoor venue Sunday were in the upper 40s at the time of the concert.

"Since our Bergen date at the start of August, the finances for this tour have exclusively been controlled by 360 Management of Willoughby Avenue in West Hollywood. Each date booked would make enough money to pay its way," he wrote last December in a post on fan blog true-to-you.net.

"When Gustavo collapsed at the Boulder show, 360 Management responded with the announcement that all funds had suddenly evaporated. There was apparently not even enough money to transport the touring party to the next scheduled city, and 360 Management faded out as quickly as they had faded in," he added.
