Kaya Jones rocked Twitter over the weekend with claims that the Pussycat Dolls were abused by founder Robin Antin. “My truth,” she tweeted. “I wasn’t in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring. Oh & we happened to sing & be famous. While everyone who owned us made the $.” The early member, who left before their debut LP was released, elaborated further. “How bad was it? People ask — bad enough that I walked away from my dreams, bandmates & a 13 million dollar record deal. We knew we were going to #1.”
“I want the den mother from hell to confess why another 1 of her girl group girls committed suicide? Tell the public how you mentally broke us,” the singer continued in reference to the death of G.R.L. member Simone Battle. “To be apart of the team you must be a team player. Meaning sleep with whoever they say. If you dont they have nothing on you to leverage.” Robin finally responded to the claims, calling them “disgusting, ridiculous lies.” According to The Blast, she is already speaking with lawyers about a possible libel suit.
While that drama plays out on social media and eventually in court, what does this mean for the Pussycat Dolls reunion? I guess it depends if other members of the girl group substantiate Kaya’s claims. See her tweets below and read Robin’s response here.

Yes I said leverage. Meaning after they turn you out or get you hooked on drugs they use it against you.Correct.Victimizing the victim again

To the dolls that stayed&artists I’ve worked with who knew&know the truth speak up! When the truth is shown be on the right side of history
— KAYA (@KayaJones) October 15, 2017
To anyone thinking I’ve made this up, why would I want to have a target on my back/claim to have been used & abused? Not exactly a good look
— KAYA (@KayaJones) October 15, 2017
Robin & the record label made all the money. We as Pussycat Dolls were paid $500 a week. While we were being abused & used. Fact!
— KAYA (@KayaJones) October 15, 2017
I finally feel the weight I’ve held in my heart lifted & mending. It’s been hard to hold lies in for people who broke me. No more
— KAYA (@KayaJones) October 15, 2017
I hope more women & men come out & share their abuse & pain. We must shine a light on this issue in the entertainment business
